Rotary Club of Delray Beach Hosts “FT Locker (fresh threads)” Fundraiser to Support Homeless StudentsConfidence plays a vital role in a child’s ability to learn and succeed. To help build that confidence among local students facing homelessness, the Rotary Club of Delray Beach is inviting the community to support the Fresh Threads Locker Program — a collaborative effort with the City of Delray Beach and local schools to ensure every child has access to essential items throughout the school year.
Across eight schools in Delray Beach, more than 100 homeless students will benefit from designated “FT Locker” closets stocked with hygiene products, sneakers, underwear, and clothing — basic necessities that help children feel confident, cared for, and ready to learn.
To keep these lockers filled and the program thriving, the Rotary Club is hosting a fundraising event on Thursday, November 6, at the popular Good Night John Boy’s. The event will feature delicious hors d’oeuvres and a drink, a fashion show highlighting local boutiques, dancing, and plenty of fun for a meaningful cause.
“We believe that when a child feels confident, they’re able to focus on learning and growing,” said Rita Rana, President of the Rotary Club of Delray Beach. “The Fresh Threads Locker program gives our most vulnerable students the dignity and support they deserve.”
Community members unable to attend the event can still contribute by sending a check to the Rotary Club of Delray Beach Foundation or by scanning the QR code to visit the Amazon registry, where they can purchase items directly for students in need.
