Our annual Fruit Tree Pruning workshop - led by Mike Feingold and friends - and working on the many fruit trees at our site. The workshop is FREE - please arrive at 10.45 for an 11am start, then stay for the day. We'll finish approx 3.30-4pm!
Workshop space is limited - Priority will go to individuals involved in community food & growing projects.
To book your place you must contact Mike on mikefeingold[at]blueyonder.co.uk and get a confirmed booking (clicking going or interested on this FB event does NOT reserve you a place).
Info:
- You should bring your own sharp secateurs & pruning saw (not a bow saw nor a carpenters saw!), loppers too - if you have them.
- We may have a few spare tools to share around - hand sanitiser & cleaning gear will be available.
- Theory: you will learn about the tools to use, what & when to prune, and how/where to prune.
- Practice: hours will then be spent actively pruning the right trees...whilst guided by the Mike & other experienced pruners.
Dress for the weather, with sturdy footwear & gloves - it will be cold / maybe wet / maybe snow! Our orchard is on a slope!
There will be a fire & hot water/mulled cider - it'll help if you bring a mug/thermos.
Please bring veggie / vegan food & snacks etc to share!
(Note - We strongly recommend that you return to Royate Hill for the next few Saturdays to polish your new skill & do more pruning!)
