Fruit Basket Presents: QUEER MOVIE CLUB
Come join us at Fringe Records NYC for Fruit Basket’s QUEER MOVIE CLUB! This month, we’re celebrating comedy, music, and a whole lot of sisterhood with a screening of the iconic 1992 film Sister Act, starring the one and only Whoopi Goldberg!
This legendary film follows Deloris Van Cartier, a lounge singer who finds herself in witness protection at a convent—where she shakes things up, brings a struggling choir to life, and discovers the power of community (all while dodging mobsters). With its uplifting message, unforgettable musical numbers, and Whoopi’s signature humor, Sister Act is a queer favorite that never gets old!
The screening follows the 7 PM Fruit Basket Open Mic, where local comedy talent take the stage before we settle in for the film at 8 PM. Whether you’re a longtime fan or watching for the first time, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
