About this Event
Ice: The Realness, The Foundation.
Despite any of the other ingredients that it may feature and boast, the modern cocktail invariably owes its enduring success to frozen water. Dutch Kills, the home base of internationally lauded bartender and ice pioneer Richard Boccato, welcomes you to a seminar in recognition of ice in its many cocktail incarnations. In collaboration with celebrated bartender Garret Richard of Sunken Harbor Club and award-winning cocktail writer Ben Schaffer, from the pages of their book Tropical Standard: Cocktail Techniques & Reinvented Recipes, this seminar will muddle a memorable mix of bar techniques and history, exploring the myriad ways that ice continues to effectively dance its way into your drink.
Join us for a presentation to satisfy the senses on Monday, September 23rd, at 3PM accompanied by an exemplary flight of signature drinks--with plenty of time for Q&A from the three presenters in the spotlight. Copies of Tropical Standard will also be available for purchase and signing.
After the seminar, a very special cocktail menu will be revealed and enjoyed from 6PM until 11PM!
