Our season opens with an enchanting program commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of legendary American poet Robert Frost (1874-1963) with a performance of Randall Thompson’s Frostiana. Immerse yourself in the rich, evocative world of Frost’s poetry brought to life through Thompson’s exquisite music. This concert will also feature works by American composers Anthony Trecek-King, Shawn Kirchner, Stephen Paulus, and H.T. Burleigh.
This concert will be repeated on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4pm at San Dieguito United Methodist Church in Encinitas.

To further commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of legendary American poet Robert Frost, the San Diego Master Chorale is partnering with The Robert Frost Society, Library Foundation SD, and Sweetwater Union High School District to present a series of community programs in honor of the occasion.
1. Lecture Performance
Featuring San Diego Master Chorale & The Robert Frost Society
Saturday, October 19, 2024 — 2:00 pm
San Diego Central Library, Morgan Auditorium
This Lecture Performance will feature a reading of Robert Frost’s poems that are also featured in Randall Thompson’s Frostiana. These readings will be followed by a performance by members of the San Diego Master Chorale of the Thompson settings, and Executive Director Robert Hass of the Robert Frost Society will add discussion and commentary. The event will also feature a question and answer session for the audience. This Lecture Performance is free to the public.
2. Side-By-Side Community Concert
Featuring San Diego Master Chorale & Sweetwater High Schools
Saturday, October 26, 2024 — 4:00 pm
San Ysidro Performing Arts Center
The SD Master Chorale will also present a Side-by-Side Community Concert at the San Ysidro Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 4:00 pm. This special concert will include choir students from high schools in the Sweetwater Union High School District in concert, side-by-side with the San Diego Master Chorale, performing music from the Frostiana program. Tickets for this concert will be available at sdmasterchorale.org.
