MojoBanjo: A musical history of the banjo through pieces, ballads and fiddle tunes. The banjo came originally from West Africa in the 1640s. It arrived as memories and ideas. It adapted to the new world, eventually coming to a common form in the 1840s. From there the banjo was the mojo of the day right through the 1950s and beyond.
Loosely threading along this timeline, Teilhard Frost and Jason Mercer combine a variety of banjos, jaw harp, fiddle and song for an exciting night of music. Speaking about the concert, Teilhard Frost says, “It is a banjo centric show but all who have been in audience in the past have loved it, even if they didn’t think they liked the banjo”.
