About this Event
Front Tier marks it's first year anniversary of running gigs out of The Ballroom in Perth with an amazing line up featuring comedians from all over the country and beyond, headlined by the North East's finest Wray Thomson.
Wray is a seasoned comic hailing from Aberdeen who has in recent years become a firm favourite in the North East and prepares to wind down his comedy career next year. So this show will be one of the last opportunities to see him in headliner mode! Wray in his own words:
JOIN ME AS I WRAP UP WHAT HAS BEEN A VERY COLOURFUL CAREER AS THE NORTHEASTS MOST ATTENDED STAND UP COMEDIAN I started stand up 13 years ago, and in that time I’ve gone from broke and homeless to broke with a home. In the past 5 years since starting man chat I’ve used comedy to attempt to spread joy and in doing so have managed to donate £27,000 to local schools, football clubs, charities and individuals on top of that I managed to fund man chat and run a successful men’s mental health organisation that’s helped thousands of blokes from our neck of the woods and further afield. Comedy has taken me from the walking the streets looking for cigarette butts to smoke, to traveling all over Scotland and even overseas to make people laugh. Unfortunately though all good things must come to and I’m at a cross roads between being a comedian and mental health advocate or imploding myself as I continue to pick apart every show. I am moving on to focus on building the Aberdeen fringe festival into a massive yearly event and most importantly to spend time with Debbie and her boys as they are at an age where I really need to be there and spending every weekend away isn’t the right thing to be doing when they need a stable influence. So join me as I take you through 13 years of what has been the craziest journey imaginable. From my worst points to the best, the best jokes, and no doubt some of the bad ones and with Shan fae Kincorth and Grubbie Rubbie joining for one last time as I wrap up what has been an awesome time just making people laugh.
Opening the show, BBC New comedian of the year semi finalist Qin Wang. Grew up in China, and lives in the UK, Chin Wang is an up-coming stand-up comedian in the UK comedy scene. As seen on BBC 3, as heard on BBC Radio.
With special feature, rising new comedian Kyle Samuel who has been smashing his gigs up and down the country and most recently winning the Beat The Blackout gong show at the prestigious Up the Creek Comedy club
