From where I stand brings together three bodies of work from local artist Lyn Raymer. Lyn’s award winning drawings take us from the studied observation of densely populated public spaces, to addressing the uncomfortable reality of a pandemic, and adjusting the visual lens from a very personal perspective. These highly detailed charcoal drawings are created using a reductive method with Lyn using erasers to pull and push the figures and forms from darkened backgrounds. The implied movement and atmosphere invite the viewer to stand within these unique spheres to contemplate the juxtaposed perspectives.
From where I stand is a free exhibition open daily from August 31 to October 6.
An opening celebration will be held from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday August 31.
The Living Arts Space is in the Bendigo Visitor Centre together with the First Nations gallery Djaa Djuwima.
Bendigo Visitor Centre is located at 51-67 Pall Mall, Bendigo and open from 9am to 4.30pm daily.
