About this Event
From Urusalim to Jerusalem
While many are aquatinted with Jerusalem's beautiful landscapes, its glorious past and rich culture - it still is a land of mystery for many.
The walk will aim at introducing attendees to the four different quarters of Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives through storytelling. We will also make an emhasis on the Caucasian Jewish groups' heritage in Jerusalem, while trying to understand how did Jerusalem become a home for all three Abrahamic religions.
Our public lecture and walk will be led by Lasha Shakulashvili (https://www.facebook.com/fl.lasha/). Lasha was educated at Tel Aviv University; University of Oxford - School of Rare Jewish Languages; Paideia - The European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden; as well as Yad Vashem's International School for Holocaust Studies (ISHS). He has previously worked for the Permanent Mission of Georgia to the United Nations and holds the "Ambassador of Peace" award. In 2023, Lasha was awarded the British "Polonsky" Prize for creativity and originality in Jewish Studies. On December 8, 2023, The Jewish Council of Georgia awarded Lasha Shakulashvili for outstanding contributions to Georgian-Jewish relations.
