About this Event
From The Back of a Police Car to the Front of a Helicopter
In person public lecture in Greenbank Lecture Theatre, Greenbank Building, UCLan Preston Campus
Arrive from 6:30pm for 7pm start.
Prof. Stuart Maitland Knibb is today an internationally known and highly respected doctor. He is a consultant helicopter emergency medic, an academic, who works for large a large global corporation and is a member of the UK search and rescue team amongst many,
many other things. He has had a wide ranging, varied and experienced medical career, working all over the globe in remote locations and has worked in some very challenging and hostile conditions.
This may sound like the most interesting part of his career, however, perhaps the most surprising part of his story is that Stuart was expelled from school, left school with no GCSE’s and to this day still has no A levels at all.
Come and be inspired by this inspirational story from the beginning of his journey in early life, from a broken home, through drugs, violence and ultimately police arrest for firearms, to how he turned his life around to get to where he is today.
Let him entertain you as he shares his journey and tells you about his work now but also provides reasons why you should never accept or be limited by other people’s ideas of what is and isn’t possible for your own journey.
