Join us for a special presentation by Professor Tze-Lan Sang of Michigan State University.Taiwan (The Republic of China) is the first Asian country to legalize same-sex marriage. What role has literature played in fostering a sexually more tolerant society? In this talk we will revisit the development of LGBTQ+ literature in Taiwan from the 1990s to the present, focusing especially on the female homoerotic imaginary in lesbian classics such as Notes of a Crocodile and recent award-winning titles such as Taiwan Travelogue.
