About this Event
Join me on a small-group walking tour through Jerusalem as we retrace the steps of Jesus, exploring the history and stories behind the Christian sites on Mount of Olives, Via Dolorosa, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
We will begin at the top of Mount of Olives, where the stunning views of Jerusalem provide the perfect backdrop for understanding its spiritual and historical significance. Together, we’ll visit Dominus Flevit, where we'll find an ancient cemetery from the time of Jesus. Then, we'll continue down to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed the night before his arrest.
Entering the Old City through the Lion’s Gate, we will begin our journey along the Via Dolorosa, the path where Jesus carried the cross. We’ll stop at each of the 14 Stations of the Cross, stopping to learn about the events commemorated at the different locations.
Our tour will conclude at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the holiest site to Christianity, believed to be where Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and resurrected. We will explore its sacred spaces, including the Golgotha - the site of the crucifixion - and the Tomb of Jesus. Together, we’ll uncover the church’s rich history, its stunning architecture, and its role as a spiritual destination for millions of pilgrims.
The tour involves about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) of walking, including stairs. Make sure to come in comfortable walking shoes!
Since we will be visiting holy Christian sites, please come in modest clothes (a shirt with a sleeve and long pants that cover the legs).
This is a small-group tour of up to 6 participants!
The exact meeting point will be given after booking.
*Please note that due to the current situation in Israel, some sites may be closed without prior notice. In that case, we will talk about the site next to it. In case of a need to cancel the tour due to the situation, you will receive full refund.
