BASE Services is pleased to announce that applications are now open for our Certificate I Hospitality Traineeships. We are hosting an Open Day on Tuesday, September 9th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., during which potential trainees can take a guided tour of our traineeship program and discuss our hospitality traineeships with staff, current trainees, and graduates. What are BASE Services/2nd Shot Hospitality Traineeship:
BASE Services/2nd Shot Hospitality Traineeship is funded by the Queensland Government Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.
The PAID traineeships are full-time (8:am – 4pm Monday – Friday) and aimed at assisting people who are unemployed or underemployed, including young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, mature-age jobseekers, women re-entering the workforce, veterans and ex-service personnel, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to gain the skills, qualifications and experience to enter and stay in the workforce. This unique opportunity for personal growth and development offers the potential for a rewarding career in the hospitality industry.
Tasks & Duties:
• Assist with food and beverage preparation and service
• Maintain a clean and sanitised working environment
• Provide professional and welcoming services to our guests
• Adhere to all occupational food and safety requirements
• Participate in life and work skill sessions
• And complete a Certificate I in Hospitality
To be eligible for this traineeship, participants need to be:
• An Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of a permanent visa
• A Queensland resident
• 15 years of age or older
• Not hold or currently enrolled in school or a post-school qualification, apprenticeship or traineeship (please note you may still be eligible if you didn’t complete your study or if your course has been outdated)
• Not have previously commenced or completed a Skilling Queenslanders for Work Program.
