About this Event

An inspirational day of learning and collaboration.
Join Harmless – the national centre of excellence for self harm and suicide prevention – as it leads National Self Harm Awareness Day 2026 with its annual flagship conference. Featuring a range of expert speakers and leading academics, this is your opportunity to join delegates from across the sector for an engaging day of specialist and evidence-based content. Fully CPD-accredited, the conference will deliver knowledge and practical solutions for implementation in real-life situations, as well as the chance to network and share experiences. Our conference theme for 2026 is The Uncomfortable Truth: Confronting Barriers to Connection in Self Harm and Suicide Prevention.

A full line-up of speakers and workshops will be announced over the coming weeks and months.

As at previous events, our strategic focus will be on:
• Collaborative Partnership

• Service-User Representation

• Effective Practice

• Driving Change

• Overcoming Stigma and Discrimination
After a hugely successful 2025 conference, we are delighted to be returning to Trent Conference Centre, Nottingham’s leading independent events venue. A complimentary hot lunch is provided. Delegates unable to attend in person can also participate via a live stream. We hope you can join us to learn, collaborate and contribute to what is always a fascinating and memorable event.
Feedback from our 2025 event:
‘My first conference and great opportunity to network and obtain the value I was hoping for – thank you!’
‘Today was a fantastic opportunity to learn from others and reflect on how to improve mental health support in different ways. I especially appreciated the focus on different groups who ordinarily have issues engaging with services’
‘The whole programme has been excellent and thought-provoking. Thank you!’
‘I loved the whole day – it was all very informative, and I will be able to feedback some key themes to rest of my small team’
‘It was incredible to be in a room with so many passionate people and the theme of lived experience really shone through. A great day!’
The conference format includes plenary presentations and a series of breakout workshops. In-person delegates will be able to choose their breakout workshop sessions in advance.
PLEASE NOTE: Online delegates will be unable to choose which breakout workshops to follow live as we are unable to broadcast them all simultaneously. However, all workshops will be recorded and available to view online at the conclusion of the conference.
For access to this quality, specialist, evidence-based and CPD-accredited event, tickets are priced at just £130 per delegate for in-person admission or £80 per online delegate. All funds raised through ticket sales go towards covering administration costs and to help Harmless sustain its life-saving support for those impacted by self harm and suicide.
