The Rockford Public Library [RPL] invites the community to attend “From Carnegie to Contemporary, Exploring RPL’s Architectural Odyssey” a captivating presentation and exhibit chronicling the architectural evolution of our beloved institution.
Presentation Highlights will include:
Historical debate over the location of Rockford’s Main Library
Development of the 1903 Carnegie Library
Modernization efforts in the 1960s
Design and features of the newly opened library
Our distinguished speaker, Gary W. Anderson, Founding Architect at Studio GWA and renowned local architectural historian, will share his expertise and insights on the architectural designs and development of each building throughout the Library’s history.
This event will be held in the First Floor Gallery of the Main Library.
