Join us for the month of December and multiple special events celebrating the diversity of abstract art. The front exhibition will feature the meditative and quiet works of Kristin Brin, and the dynamic bold paintings of Adrian Huth, covering the gamut of emotions you may be feeling right now! Whether you crave a Zen, contemplative, and restful feeling to sort things out, or are feeling invigorated and want to maintain your joy as an act of defiance, we have art that will make you happy and give you a lifetime of contentment. (Curated by Dale Youngman)Adrian Huth started painting in 1996 after graduating from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in Interdisciplinary Philosophy. His works straddle the line between figurative depictions and non-representational abstractions. Adrian utilizes tools from both traditional and current digital painting methods, and is influenced by the AbEx painters of the 50’s and Neo-expressionists of the late 70's and 80's. Recently Adrian became inspired by his wife’s work utilizing street artist processes and mechanisms, and now makes use of those tools in his own works. New works are created as multi-layered compositions using paint markers, dabbers, spray, acrylic, and oil paints which are typically executed on large scale linen canvases.
Kristin Brin grew up in St. Louis in a great family with a lot of artistic encouragement and freedom. She has been creating some kind of art since she was a young adult, from sculpture to mixed media and found object assemblage to large -scale paintings. Overcoming poor health, multiple injuries, and two periods of years-long isolation gave her insight, and through her solitude, she found a path forward, and her paintings began to change in color and content. Now creating meaningful large paintings in a mostly soft and often neutral color palette, she has found and embraces the energy that a painting grows into and becomes. A frequent award-winner at the Beverly Hills Art Show, she now realizes that the joy she feels in creating beauty is shared and felt by many others.
In the second gallery and the solo lounge, GDCA is pleased to be exhibiting the works of Cheryl Hrudka & Stan Johnson, a collaborative team of artists exploring the evolutionary process through original digital compositions, and in the rear lounge, their original photographic work.
Their body of abstract and largely geometric work is designed in the computer and then printed on aluminum, making them especially suitable for commercial lobbies, corporate collections and boardrooms. Emphasis is given to form, texture, and color. Each field, the figure, and the ground, is meticulously arranged for the maximum (emotive) effect. The smaller photographic works in the solo lounge would make exceptional gifts for any photography lover.
