About this Event
The Friends of The Jones Falls is hosting a 2-day “2025 Earth Day Party” at the Round Falls entry area on the weekend of May 3, 2025. Its objective is to unburden trees of English ivy and other climbing Non-native invasive vines that threaten the life of those trees around the entrance area.
Project orientation for both Saturday, May 3rd, and Sunday, May 4th - where you’ll learn some basics about invasive vines - will be from 9 to 10am, followed by work Parties from 10 to 2pm.
Volunteers who have tools for such work (pruners and loppers) are encouraged to bring them, but there will be tools to borrow. Please also bring water canteens, work gloves, and wear closed-toe shoes.
If driving, please park in the gravel area adjacent to the Potts & Callahan equipment storage yard at 2801 Falls Rd., then walk uphill Falls Rd. to meet-up at the Round Falls entry area where the Jones Falls Trail crosses Falls Rd. There is a bicycle lock-up on site.
