About this Event

Welcome to our next Friends of Kokoda (FoK) 'Beyond the Battlefield' military history talk event!

Join us on Saturday 30 November 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway's Ralph Honner Education Centre for a fascinating discussion on events that often went beyond the battlefield.

The talk in November features Dr Seamus Spark (from Monash University) who will discuss the experiences of PNG natives during WW2. Seamus will speak on the interactions between the native inhabitants and the combatants (both Allied and Japanese) during the PNG campaign, and how these have historically excluded the perspectives of the Papuans and New Guineans.

Admission for members of the FoK program is free; others can pay a small donation of $5.00 on the day (or through our website).

Connect with fellow military history enthusiasts at the Walkway and don't miss out on this unique experience!
