Come celebrate the principles of Kwanzaa with us! The Friends of the James Brown African American Room are hosting their 8th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration! This will be a vibrant event dedicated to honoring community, culture, and the spirit of togetherness. This year, the focus is on Unity in the Community, encouraging everyone to get involved, volunteer, and become part of something meaningful.

Candle lighting ceremony
Panel discussion: The Power of Community Organizations led by Dr. Anasa Ma’at (Friends of the James Brown African American Room), with Deborah Smith Gregory (Newark NAACP) and Vivian Carter (Friends of Newark Symphony Hall). Hear from the heads of local organizations sharing insights on the importance of community involvement and how you can make a difference by joining or supporting local organizations. Also come and share about your local organization and what you are doing for your community!
