Hello EveryoneI am pleased to confirm the next volunteer day will be on Wednesday 17th June 10.00 - 3.30
Like before we will meet at the Pitch and Putt entrance/Friends of Hillsborough container by Larkstone car park:
All tools including gloves will be provided but please bring a packed lunch/drinks as required.
The plan depending on numbers and the weather is to do the following:
1) Bracken bash about a third of the Ski Slope Wildflower meadow. We would do this on the newest section, which although has a lot less Bracken now still has enough to inhibit good wildflower growth. We have two 'empty' therefore light! rollers which we have found are ideal to bash the Bracken without damaging other plants too much.
2) Hillsborough’s annual bench maintenance which involves clearing around the benches and re-staining them.
3) Install three of the new information panels in conjunction with the North Devon Parks team.
