Friends of Gillingham Park Lantern Making Workshop
Have you ever wanted to explore Gillingham Park by lantern light? This autumn the Friends of Gillingham Park are hosting our fourth annual Lantern Walk!
Join us in the morning on Saturday 8 November 2025 at The Blue Room to make and decorate a lantern to use that evening on our walk. All materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring a jar from home to use. Please note the lanterns will be using tealights.
The workshop will include a short story, plenty of creative time and some light refreshments available for a donation. Suitable for all ages but all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets £5 including booking fee per lantern. Supervising adults go free! Please book a ticket if you would like to make a lantern.
The lantern walk will take place in the evening of 8 November 2025, from 16:30 - 17:30. We will congregate at the Oxford Road Entrance before making our way around the park. Tickets are not required for the Lantern Walk, but homemade lanterns are encouraged.
Space is limited. If you are unable to keep your reservation for this workshop, please cancel so others may have the opportunity to attend. Please try to arrive 10 minutes early. Toilets including disabled facilities are available on site. Please contact us in advance if you have accessibility requirements and we will happily accommodate where possible!
We want to make this workshop as accessible to as many families as possible. We have a small number of free spaces available for the workshop. Please contact us if the cost of the workshop is a barrier to you attending. This is operated on a good faith basis and so there will be no questions asked.
