Two of Australia's favourite up and coming indie-rock acts, Jacob Fitzgerald & the Electric City + Friends of Friends, have joined forces to showcase their latest music in an intimate setting, moving towards an exciting new territory with each release.
Pure songwriting class, partnered with an unparalleled charisma and captivating stage presence are the staple pieces that make Jacob Fitzgerald one to watch. Backed by his band The Electric City, Jacobs distinct vocal tone is accompanied by thundering drums, melodic bass lines and belting guitar riffs aiding to his dynamic songwriting prowess. Making quite the name for themselves as one of Australia’s hottest live acts, Jacob Fitzgerald & The Electric City have toured across the country playing shows with the likes of Kasabian, Bradley Simpson, Pacific Avenue, The Rions, Selfish Sons, The Struts (UK), Sea Girls (UK) and more.
Having cut their teeth opening for beloved acts such as Kasabian, Sea Girls, The Reytons, Slowly Slowly, Short Stack and many more, Friends of Friends have already built a widespread and dedicated fanbase, amassing over 1.1 million streams on Spotify, across only singles and their debut EP REAL LIFE, RIGHT NOW (2024). Sharing stages with the likes of Post Malone and The Wombats at festivals including Spilt Milk, BIGSOUND, SXSW Sydney and Easy Lover, and with Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park singing their praises at their showcase in Brisbane, Friends of Friends maintain a reputation as even more exhilarating of a live band as what they are on record. Their sophomore EP, Synthetic Flower Chainsaw, which has received support from Triple J, BBC Radio 1, Rock Sound & Kerrang!, is a catchy, tender five-track statement from the band that refuses polish in favour of something truer: gut-spilt honesty, maximalist chaos, and a strange kind of beauty that envelops you.
