About this Event
Join us at Androscoggin County Fish and Game Association on Saturday, May 18th for our first Friends and Family Event. This event is intended for ages 10 and up, all children under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult and all those under 21 MUST be accompanied by a parent to shoot handguns! This event is intended for new shooters, experienced shooters are welcome to bring non-experienced shooters, but we ask you to refrain from shooting. ALL INSTRUCTION AT THE FIRING LINE WILL BE FROM ACFGA MEMBERS, ONLY THE SHOOTER WILL BE ALLOWED AT THE LINE OF FIRE. This is a free event! All firing and handling of firearms will be supervised by our NRA-certified Range Safety Officers and instructors, ensuring a safe and educational atmosphere for all. All firearms, targets, and ammunition are provided at the event. Hearing and eye protection is required and will also be provided if attendees are unable to supply their own.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN FIREARMS!
- Check-in 20 minutes before your selected session time at our registration table for a safety briefing, a run-through of basic firearm and gun handling safety, and a tour of our clubhouse and indoor range.
- No prior training is required.
-Due to the cost and shortages of ammunition and a lack of grants that we would typically receive for this event, we are asking for SUGGESTED donations of $10 - $20. Donations are NOT required for participation.
-Anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
- Anyone under the age of 21 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian to shoot any handguns.
-Please bring eye and hearing protection if you have it. (We will have a limited supply for those who do not have any.) Hearing and eye protection are REQUIRED.
-Please wear closed-toed shoes. Pants are recommended, as well as a higher-neckline shirt (crew neck). Hair should also be pulled back from your face, and a visor or ball cap will further protect you, especially if you wear prescription glasses
-Memberships to The Androscoggin County Fish and Game Association will be offered at the renewal rate to those who sign up on the day of the event. (This is a $25 savings. NRA membership is required to apply for membership)
- All firearms, ammunition, and targets will be provided.
-Please do not bring any firearms with you. We will have plenty to try, and outside firearms will not be allowed on the range at this event.
-Try several different calibers of handguns on our steel plate and short berm ranges.
-Shoot steel plates with a variety of rifles on our 50-yard and 100-yard rifle ranges.
- Enjoy shotgun with clay fliers at our trap and 5 stand ranges.
- Try Olympic-grade air guns in our indoor range.
- NRA Certified Range Safety Officers and NRA Certified Instructors will be on-site with each shooter to supervise, give guidance, and ensure safety.
-By registering for this event, you authorize ACFGA to take and utilize pictures from Friends and Family Day on their website and social media accounts. If you do not wish for ACFGA to use your photo, please speak with the Registration table upon arrival.
