Friendly Thieves is the hottest funk rock band based in Kansas City. Think Alabama Shakes and Young The Giant have a Vulfpeck-inspired love child. Fronted by Sam Wells’ villainous and intoxicating voice, this quintet is accompanied by Ben Baker sporting crunchy sax melodies dripping with effects, Sam Millard’s lively, yet mystifying bass, Matt Chipman's spunky and powerful drum grooves, and Jamae Breeze’s colorful lead guitar.
Sweet Magnolia is the recipient of the national and prestigious 2024 South Arts Jazz Roads Tours Award. From New Orleans, they play original pop songs that blend the genres of powerhouse New Orleans brass with the earworms of pop music. Their songs are a rare combination of female storytelling in the brass medium -- unapologetically sassy, infectiously fun, and bold.
They will be joined by Kansas City's own Big Fat Cow for what will be an unforgettable night of music that you don't hear everyday!
