90’s surf fuzz grunge legends FRIDGE have come out of deep thaw to play a rare short run of shows.FRIDGE started out in Tasmania in 1991 and moved to Melbourne not long after to show to all and sundry their appreciation and fabulous execution of scuzzed out fuzz rock, gracing the stage with luminaries including Iggy Pop, Rollins Band, and Monster Magnet.
FRIDGE released a single Green Room, and the albums Cactus and An Intoxicating Breath of Fresh Air
Disbanding in the late 90’s but remaining friends, members have since played in various bands such as King Parrot and Tumbleweed.
The band has reunited several times over the years, voted “best on ground” at RiverRocks ’22, and a recent run of shows in Melbourne and Tassie in September ’24.
Now, 30 years since the release of “Cactus”, FRIDGE have regrouped and entered the studio to record a bunch of old unreleased and new songs.
Last seen in Wollongong at Tsunami’s in 1996!
Presenting their own brand of hi-energy, in your face rock, with cool melodies and heavy riffs, harmony within chaos.
To make the night even more awesome FRIDGE will be ably supported by
DRIFTING DEADBEATS
Drifting Deadbeats are the mutation of Wollongong bands of the past Shifter and The Dead Set. They share members with Tumbleweed, Radio Birdman, The New Christs and The Escarpment and have emerged to bring their seminal high energy guitar driven surf garage punk rock'n'roll to La La Las this December. They have no social media profile or presence. It makes it better that way.
DROPPING HONEY
Dropping Honey will be performing for the first time since launching
their new single Branches (Silhouette Records) earlier this year. With characteristic twin guitar lines and vocal harmonies, they combine elements of shoegaze, post-punk and indie/alternative rock to create a sound that is dreamy, immersive and intense.
