Get ready to celebrate creativity and community at this year’s Fridge Art Fair, featuring the landmark exhibition Walk-In Fridge: Fridge Does Freddie, set to take place from December 4-8, 2024 at the iconic Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove, Miami. This exciting event honors the legendary Freddie Mercury, one of music history's most groundbreaking icons and showcases Freddie Mercury’s extraordinary impact on music and culture, transcending traditional boundaries of race, sexual identity, and gender. As the iconic frontman of Queen, Mercury redefined what it means to be a global superstar, using his powerful voice and fearless self-expression to unite people from diverse backgrounds.
Visitors can expect a whirlwind of new artist projects, performances, and workshops designed to celebrate the spirit of Freddie Mercury and his unifying impact through music with more information soon. David Craig Ellis, Jean Blackwell Font, Eric Ginsburg, Kaitlin Martin, and David Waage will co-direct and curate spaces within the fair.
In conjunction with the main Walk-In-Fridge, the Mini-Fridge will kick off on Tuesday, December 3rd, with the "Killer Queen" VIP Opening Gala at the LGBT Visitor Center in Miami Beach with a spotlight on Miami LGBTQ+ artists showcasing their talent and creativity in all their fabulous diversity. This year’s Mini-Fridge Edition in Miami Beach is supported by #VisitMiamiLGBTQ, a Division of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the LGBT Visitor Center on Miami Beach.
With our tagline, "Can you fit into the fridge?" Fridge Art Fair Miami 2024 invites you to step into a world where art and tribute merge into an unforgettable celebration of creativity and community. Since its debut in Miami in December 2013, the “little fair that could” has been at the forefront of artistic innovation, consistently delivering vibrant art experiences.
Fridge Art Fair, founded by artist Eric Ginsburg, is celebrated for its innovative and inclusive approach to art fairs, providing a dynamic platform for diverse artistic expressions and creative experiences.
collaboARTive, founded in 2017 by artists Jean Blackwell Font and Iggy Font, is dedicated to supporting visual artists and creatives in Miami-Dade County and beyond. This nonprofit organization offers affordable studio space, community engagement, exhibition opportunities, and valuable resources for artists.
