2023 Brij Wines Freund $32.94

Brij Wines is a project by Sommelier and famed winemaker Rajat Parr. The name of the winery comes from Raj's father, and Raj's has many projects and labels that are made as an homage to friends and family. Freund translates to "friend" in German, a nod to Grüner Veltliner’s Austrian roots and the sense of friendship Rajat Parr maintains with heritage-vine growers on California’s Central Coast. The grapes are sourced from the Spear vineyard in Sta Rita Hills in Santa Barbara. The grapes spend 24 hours of skin contact and are fermented and aged in 500 L puncheons.


2023 Les Champs Libres VDF Le Geai des Champs $34.94

Les Champs Libres is a micro-négoce project by the famed natural winemaker Dard & Ribo. Dard & Ribo was part of the first generation of sans-souffre wines in the 90's. This cuvee is sourced from biodynamically farmed vineyards in the Ardèche in the Southern Rhone. It is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne and Sylvaner. The wine ages for six months before being bottled unfined, unfiltered and with minimal sulfur additions.


2023 Tanca Nica Soki Soki $67.94

Tanca Nika is a winery located on the volcanic island of Pantelleria, located off of the western coast of Sicily near the African coast. Pantelleria is most known for its delicious dessert wines from the grape Zibibbo, but Tanca Nica is taking advantage of the diverse micro-climates of the island and making dry wines from Zibibbo. The vines are organic and over 80 years old and need to be goblet trained low to the ground because of the strong wind that blows from Africa. These vines are trained in the traditional Albarello Pantesco, a practice that dates back thousands of years and is so rare that the vines are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Soki Soki is the name of the volcanic sands of pumice and lapilli. The grapes are sourced from 11 different vineyard plots and fermented separately in a combination of stainless steel, ceramic, demijohns, and chestnut. The grapes are blended and then bottled in spring during a waxing moon.


2022 Scythian Wines Revolution Red $24.94

Scythian is another project by Master Sommelier and winemaker Raj Parr focusing on old heritage sites and pre-Prohibition vineyards in Southern California. This is from the Lopez vineyard in the Cucamonga Valley and is a rare blend of 70% Zinfandel and 30% Palomino. The grapes are co-fermented as whole clusters in neutral barrel and then aged in neutral French barrel with minimal intervention.


2023 Raffault Chinon La Fraich $25.94

Olga Raffault is a family-run winery in Chinon. Olga's husband Pierre started the winery in the beginning half of the 20th century. After he tragically died in 1947, she was left with two children and a winery to run. Thanks to the help of Ernest Zeinninger, a German prisoner-of-war who worked on the farm at the end of the war, she managed to produce an exceptional vintage of wine. Zeinninger devoted his life to the vine and helping Olga and her children. He trained Olga's Jean on winemaking and together, they developed a reputation of excellence. It is currently run by Sylvie (Olga's granddaughter) and her son Arnaud. "La Fraich" is a reference to the youthfulness and freshness of the wine as the vines are younger planted on sandy alluvial soils meant for early consumption of Cabernet Franc. The grapes are organic and fermented in stainless steel with destemmed grapes.


2021 Radikon RS Rosso $43.94

The town of Oslavia sits on a stretch of hills just a nine-minute drive from the Slovenian border. It is the sunniest area of the Collio and is home to individualistic winemakers and the famed Jasko Gravner and Radikon, who looked to ancient winemaking practices such as extended skin maceration and amphora aging. Radikon was run by Stanko Radikon, who tended vines planted by his grandfather. The philosophy was to make wine the way his grandfather did in the 30's, with close traditions to neighboring Slovenia. This includes low intervention winemaking, extended skin maceration, large oak fermentation, native yeasts, and low sulfur additions. Since Stanko's death in 2016, his son Saša has taken over and continued the legacy. This is the RS Rosso, a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Pignolo planted on Ponca soils. The grapes are destemmed and co-fermented in old vats. It is aged in Botti for one year and bottled without fining or filtering. RS stands for Rosso Saša, named for the wine's creator, Saša.
