About this Event
Join us for a fun and safe morning of native plant restoration in our unique Yerba Mansa meadow in Newbury Park. We will be planting Cactus Scrub/Coastal Sage Scurb to connect remnant habitat along the hillsides at Yerba Mansa. Coastal Sage Scrub is important habitat to many species and unique to the Southern California region. Work will consist of planting hundreds of live plants grown from locally collected seed. This activity is appropriate for ages 5 and up.
The event will run from 9 am to 12 pm .
Please bring water, sunscreen and a sun hat. Wear hiking attire, closed-toe shoes and pants and long-sleeved shirt are recommended. Gloves and tools will be provided.

Main Entrance: Ventura Fwy (101) to Lynn Rd exit. South on Lynn Rd 5.25 miles to Via Goleta. Park entrance is on the left.
Using google maps, search for the Car Park for Sycamore Canyon at Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park. You should see park staff working at the site on your left as you drive down the entrance road. The Yerba Mansa Meadow is a short 5-minute walk from the main parking lot in between the overflow lot and equestrian lot.
