Change My Brain With Cakes Is a Metal band based in Quebec City, blending elements from Punk, Hardcore, Metalcore and Electro to offer a unique and violent sound. The band takes pride in delivering high-energy, chaotic live performances, with theatrics and an attire to match.
Born from death, heartbreak, and social isolation, Hypersex Banshee initially materialized in a basement somewhere in Ottawa, Ontario as the experimental solo project of Kieran Cantwell-Bowditch. Early material documents existential suffering, personal trauma and self-destruction in a cacophony of cathartic shrieks, raw poetry, jagged beats, butchered samples, and amorphous song structures.
Following the pandemic, the project began to refine its sound—drawing influences from noise rock, mathcore, post-hardcore, post-rock, grindcore, progressive rock, and screamo—and began performing live as a one-man band, which has been described by fans as “noise emo,” “skunkgrind,” or “somewhere between nightmare fuel and BTBAM."
As of 2026, the band is writing new material as a three-piece, and in March will be performing for the first time as a three-piece in Pembroke, Ontario.
