This is an easy relaxing after work Friday cruise around the east side of Port Phillip from Brighton to beachside Seaford where we'll grab some takeaway or sit down food and possibly some yummy gelato. We haven’t had a DATA (Drive And Take-Away) event for quite a while and this drive we have usefully enjoyed before. Also an easy drive for any type of old classic that perhaps is happier cruising at lower speeds. This cruise is to one of Melbourne’s best Fish and Chip shops in the Seaford but don’t let that limit your choice as there are dozens for takeaway and restaurants here now. In fact the new Tres Mexican is gold with home style Mexican food and great service. We will be meeting up at the big BP on Nepean Hwy and heading east to Brighton beach to follow Beach Road to our first stop at Ricketts Point Beaumaris. Here we’ll enjoy the bay views for a moment with a chin wag and once we’re all together again, we’ll head off to Seaford sticking to the coast on Beach Rd and onto Nepean Hwy from Mordialloc.
There is a huge car park on the beachside of the Seaford railway station and that might be the best place where we can all park together before walking to the variety of take away places and restaurants, and the beach and jetty. I do recommend Tres Mexican which has plenty of space if you want to sit down, be served quickly and enjoy wholesome Mexican home style food.
