Paradise Garden Presents: Freyja Elsy + support from Yellow Belly & Keyz Collective
Freyja Elsy is a Cardiff-based composer, producer, and songwriter whose music blends classical influences with modern pop and electronic textures, creating a unique and cinematic ‘bow pop’ sound. Praised by BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio Wales, her debut EP, Modern Artifice, featuring the single 'Over It', has been described as a “deep, darkly cinematic experience” (Amplify the Noise) and “a sophisticated, brooding, and uniquely affecting collection” (Platinum Mind).
Recently supported by BBC Horizons and selected as a Forté Project artist for 2025, Freyja continues to make waves in the contemporary music scene. Now, as she prepares to enter the studio to record new music with a full band, this headline show marks a pivotal moment. Performing leading a trio for the first time with electric double bassist Richard Jackson (JacksorJacksor) and electric guitarist Steve Kenward (The Warden, Small Miracles), she brings her music to life in its fullest form yet. This special performance offers a rare chance to experience her evolving sound and hear exclusive previews of what’s to come.
Yellow Belly is the musical project of Cardiff-based artist Dominique Finnegan, renowned for crafting lush, melancholic melodies within atmospheric soundscapes. Their music has been described as "rich, gorgeously textured, epic" by BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson, and as "probably the most intriguing artist I've heard this year so far" by BBC Radio Wales's Adam Walton. Their 2024 album "Ghostwriter" was praised as a "slow languid glide through a landscape of dreams, clouds and frailty," offering a "night time trip into fragile love."
Keyz Collective is a high-energy, three-piece drum and bass band from Cardiff, blending live instrumentation with smooth vocals and experimental beats. Fronted by Rightkeysonly (Keys), a one-handed musician and advocate for accessibility in music, the group pushes genre boundaries while delivering electrifying performances. Joined by Samuel Duval on bass and Karl Horanszky on drums, Keyz Collective is rapidly gaining recognition for their immersive, dynamic live sets, offering an accessible gateway into the world of drum and bass.
