Build upon your stewardship, planting, and native species knowledge at our second round of orientation for the Freshkills Docent Program!
About this Event

Join Freshkills Staff at our gallery and offices for a stroll through William T Davis Refuge where we will focus on building better stewardship skills, introducing knowledge on native species, and learning service projects that enhance park's mission.

Be prepared to learn how to operate small power tools for our projects like building trail puncheon, and how to identify invasives for projects like invasive removals!

Plan Ahead: Wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and insect repellant. Also wear a hat and bring water and a snack. Tools and gloves will be provided. Do not attend if you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19.

Can't make it? You can still help by promoting our volunteer projects with your friends and neighbors. Students can receive credit for community service hours. We will also be adding more volunteer opportunities as the season continues.
