Start 2026 with creativity and intention at this welcoming poetry workshop designed for everyone—whether you’ve been writing for years or have never put pen to paper before.
Join AccessAbility Arts co-founders DK and Rob for an inspiring evening of creative expression in the cozy, intimate setting of Bottles Wine Bar. Through three engaging activities, you’ll explore poetry as a tool for reflection, celebration, and play.
What You’ll Experience:
Begin by setting intentions for the new year through “This Year I Will…” poems—accessible prompts that help you articulate hopes and dreams in your own voice. Move into winter sensory writing, drawing inspiration from the warmth of the wine bar contrasted with January’s cold outside, creating vivid imagery through sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Finish with blackout poetry, a playful technique where you’ll create entirely new poems by highlighting words from newspapers and magazines—no blank page anxiety required.
An Inclusive Space for All:
This workshop celebrates diverse voices and ensures everyone can participate in ways that feel comfortable to them. Whether you prefer writing by hand, typing, sharing verbally, listening and discussing, or contributing collaboratively, there’s space for you here. All materials are provided, and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible with table seating throughout.
Led by DK—a poet and music producer living with cerebral palsy—and Rob, this workshop embodies AccessAbility Arts’ commitment to breaking down barriers in creative spaces and empowering artists of all abilities.
