After the successful first edition of Fresh from the Oven in September 2021, Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA) and Master of Music decided to organize another alumni festival to highlight this year’s remarkable graduates and welcome our alumni, students, partners and teachers at the beginning of a new academic year/cultural season. A Festival for new music ideas, new musicians and new connections in the city of Tilburg!
AMPA/MoM aim at supporting students in creating their personal artistic practices and, through FftO, we take great pride in being able to program music performances that gloriously succeed in this direction! The audience will experience outstanding soloists and ensembles, playing very different, but specific styles, that tried to rethink performance practice and gave it their own flair.
This time the festival will also host ensemble VONK as the first ‘Fontys Focus Ensemble’.
The group fully consists of alumni that were precursors in the AMPA mission and vision and managed to gain their place in the contemporary music field. We will meet VONK during a mini symposium, in which they will discuss their creative trajectory, ideas and pitfalls but also reflect on profiling and management. They will also present parts of their ‘Songbook of rare feelings’. The symposium is dedicated to providing the necessary exchange of insights on management for new performers.
The festival will be concluded with drinks, snacks and a chance for us all to casually connect.
