Learn the art of macaron making with Chef Monica Glass!
On va faire des macarons! In celebration of Bastille Day we are bringing back one of our most popular classes. Join us in the kitchen and learn how to bake these delicious, très élégant treats. During this interactive class, you will learn the art and science of making macarons with award-winning pastry chef Monica Glass. Students will learn how to create the batter, make different types of fillings, pipe, and assemble these sweet Parisian cookies. Plus, we'll talk about some fun facts of l'histoire des macarons!
All proceeds from ticket sales go towards supporting the Culinary Literacy's Center programs for youth, neighborhood engagement, and English language learning. A limited number of free tickets are available for SNAP-eligible individuals and for anyone who cannot afford the fee right now but would still like to participate. About the presenter:
Monica Glass is an award-winning pastry chef, nationally celebrated recipe creator, and health and wellness expert. She is also a Chopped Sweets champion!
As a renowned pastry chef living with Celiac disease, she has been recognized with numerous “Best Pastry Chef” awards from Food & Wine Magazine, Boston Magazine, and Zagat, as well as being named a Food Network’s Chopped Sweets Champion in 2021. Monica has worked with some of the nation's premier chefs, restaurants, and brands, such as Gotham Bar and Grill and Le Bernardin in NYC, Clio in Boston, The Ritz Carlton, KitchenAid, and California Walnut. And after 16 years of working in high prestige, high volume kitchens, Monica recognized the need to bring balance to her life and her food and became a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health and Wellness Coach via the acclaimed Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Today, through both her food and her teaching, Monica is dedicated to empowering others with the confidence, creativity, and intuition to mindfully transform their relationship with food and create a nourished, joyful life through the kitchen.
