Join us for the 76th Fremantle Blessing of the Fleet. The Blessing of the Fleet is an annual religious tradition adopted by many fishing villages and ports throughout the world to bless the fishing fleet for a safe and successful season. Fremantle's Blessing of the Fleet is traditionally held at the end of October in the lead up to the new Fishing Season, this year taking place on Sunday 27th October.
This year holds significance as the 70th anniversary of the Madonna Di Capo D'Orlando with Local Arts and Culture organisation, Fremantle Biennale collaborating to produce a spectacular sound and light show in celebration. Little Italy by the Sea Festival will also be returning to the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour providing free family fun and hospitality venues throughout Mews Park and Bathers Beach.

Solemn High Mass celebrated by Monsignor Guglielmo Giambanco Bishop of Patti Sicily with Father Nello Triscari & Father Salvatore Chiacchiera from Sicily.
12:00pm
Little Italy By the Sea Festival commences at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, (Mews Road, Fremantle)
2:00pm
The procession will commence, making its way from St Patrick’s Basilica through the City of Fremantle streets, ending at the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour.
3:30pm
The Fishing Fleet will be blessed by Monsignor Giombanco Guglielmo.
4:30pm
The Blessing with conclude with firecrackers display at the Esplanade reserve.
5:30pm
Benediction in St Patrick’s Basilica.
7:30pm
Following the event, a spectacular Light and Sound drone show will be held at Bathers Beach, celebrating the special 70th anniversary. This event is free to attend and you can find more details about the drone show here https://www.facebook.com/events/1203026081017900
