Ride Description:March’s offering from the Derbyshire Group of EGB is fabulous Freehay! Definitely a ride for the tree lovers amongst us, this isn’t a speedy ride. Relax and enjoy the beautiful views! There are two route options - 11.5km and 22km so no matter how fit you are at the start of the season this ride will suit you.
This ride is mainly off road in the area around Freehay Quarry and Dimmingsdale giving you the opportunity to follow a marked route around fab bridleways and quiet lanes. This is definitely a barefoot friendly route. As with all Derbyshire rides there is a little element of adventure involved so there are some gentle hills and two small water crossings. Two road crossings will be manned to help you cross safely.
The longer route option explores more of Dimmingsdale where you are more likely to pass walkers and bikes.
As always, their will be a photographer on route and rosettes will be given to all riders.
