A short story writer, a novelist, and a poet walk into the basement of a bookstore... and charm us with superb readings from their brand new books!
This May, Freehand Books celebrates four new works from four talented writers, three of whom will be launching in one night. Join us at Audreys Books for readings from Edmontonian Catherine Owen, Calgarian Marion Douglas, and Ottawan Sara Power. After brief readings from each author, we'll break for snacks and drinks, then reconvene for a moderated Q&A period with the authors.

Marion Douglas presents , a novel about the unpredictability of parenthood, a journey into the unchartered territory that is having a child, especially when that child turns out to be different.
Sara Power debuts with , a collection of stories about girls and women caught in the orbit of the military.
