Learn to create a freeform quilt using the Quilt-As-You-Go method in this relaxed and creative workshop. You'll work with all kinds of fabric scraps – anything from curtain offcuts to old clothes and sheets – and turn them into a beautiful and functional quilt. Create as many blocks as you like to create any size quilt.This 4 hour workshop on Saturday 18 October 11.00am - 3.00pm is perfect for beginners and anyone wanting to quilt without the pressure of structure or perfection. You’ll learn how to:
- Piece together blocks using a variety of fabric scraps
- Add borders and build out your quilt
- Work with different textures and weights
- Embrace creative freedom and a relaxed approach to quilting
About the Tutor
Di Richardson is an experienced quilting and sewing artist who delights in showing others how to repurpose old fabrics into bright, fun, and practical quilts. Her classes are inclusive, supportive, and full of inspiration.
Class Fee: $40
What to Bring:
- A bag of fabric scraps – all types welcome
- 1 metre of wadding
- 1 metre of backing fabric
- 50cm of fabric for joining the squares
- If you'd like a bigger quilt bring more fabric
- BYO Sewing Machine (some available to use in store) and sewing accessories scissors, pins etc
- water bottle

The toilet facilities are accessible.
We have a fridge, microwave & sandwich toaster.
Kettle, tea & coffee available
