🏳️⚧️ Join Trans Affirm and the ACLU of Idaho for an exciting opportunity to take part in the "Freedom to Be" campaign, a national initiative that centers the voices and experiences of trans people across America. This campaign will culminate in a powerful art installation – a mobile monument – set to be displayed on the National Mall in Washington D.C. next year!
For this event, we’ll be decorating two large 6x6 quilt panels as part of this project. Idaho will be represented with 24 unique panels, the 2 we decorate will be show cased apart of the 24 panels. This art installation will be comprised of individual panels (quilt squares) that are decorated by trans people from across the country as they answer the question, "What does it mean to be free as a trans person?” The campaign aims to shift the narrative about trans Americans by illustrating an affirmative vision of trans joy in which everyone can live as their true, authentic selves. <3
Provided Supplies:
Blank 6x6 panels
Fabric squares, thread, and needles for sewing
Fabric paint, brushes, and sharpies
Pride flag ribbon
Hot glue gun and sticks
Feel free to bring your own supplies as well~
