Easy now Freedom Family!Now that carnival season is upon us, we are once again proud to be hosting and powering our own area at Bangor Summer Festival 2025.
Kicking off proceedings and getting the oven nicely warmed for us from 12pm-6pm we have the unique stylings of Bangor Ska 'N' Soul providing some daytime delights to get those feet shuffling!
From 6pm till 11pm the Freedom selectors will be turning up the musical heat alongside our good friends (and North Wales reggae veterans) the unmistakable Tribulation Rockers and also Jua Sounds, a newer sound on the block with some killer tunes!
And if that wasn't enough we will be joined on the microphone by the vocal talents of the one and only Morgan Elwy, who has been making waves in the Welsh reggae scene with his band and as an soundsystem MC. Last and by no means least, providing some much needed live instruments to the mix we have the deft skills of Horace Hornell on horns and melodica.
Expect Roots Reggae, Digital Dancehall, Dub, Steppers, Ska and Soul all played in a traditional bass-heavy fashion through our hand-built soundsystem.
All of the above will take place on Saturday 16th August 12-11PM @ Tan y Fynwent (The park behind the bus stops in the centre of the city, you'll no doubt hear us before you see us!)
Free of charge, family friendly, food and drinks available very close by, lighting in the evening.
All tribes welcome, please show considerate behaviour to others (including event security, kindly put on by Bangor City Council) and try to use the bins provided or take litter with you when you leave.
Also for safety compliance reasons please make sure young children are accompanied at all times and that any dogs or other furry friends are kept on a lead!
Come along and join the festivities and groove on down to the champion sound!
