This landmark public conversation brings together two visionary artists whose work explores the intersection of history, identity, and culture. Strachan, a Bahamian-born, New York-based contemporary visual artist of international renown, and Abdurraqib, a Columbus native and critically acclaimed poet, essayist, and cultural critic whose work has garnered national and international recognition, will discuss how culture is built, shared, and preserved from the margins through spaces like bars, music venues, record shops, and restaurants. After the talk, be among the first in Columbus to experience Tavares Strachan's new, permanent immersive installation at CMA at The Pizzuti. We will celebrate its public unveiling with a party from 8:00–10:00 PM featuring DJ sets by the artist himself as well as Sammy Macchiato.
