🚨 Houston, we have a problem. The crisis of sex trafficking in our city is so severe it stains Houston’s name as the sex trafficking capital of the United States. Behind the walls of hotels, inside nightclubs, and along our streets, lives are being bought and sold. Even though many streets in Bissonnet have been closed at night, the capture of the so-called “Mayor of Bissonnet” serves as a stark reminder that trafficking has not ended — it has simply shifted all across the City of Houston, continuing to exploit victims in hotels, clubs, and neighborhoods across our beloved Houston.

This effort is about awareness and resources. We are demanding the City of Houston prepare, fund, and resource anti-trafficking efforts now, before the World Cup brings a surge in trafficking to our city. We cannot wait until the spotlight is on Houston. We must act now to protect our children and our communities.

That is why we are standing together. At 10 AM, participants can either arrive with their cars already decorated or park near City Hall and pick up balloons, signs, and materials to dress up their vehicles on site. At 10:30 AM, a press conference will take place on the steps of City Hall with community leaders, faith leaders, and advocates. At 11 AM, the Freedom Ride Caravan will launch, making 10 loops around City Hall — including Walker Street, Bagby Street, McKinney Street, and Smith Street — to raise maximum awareness and send a clear message that Houston demands action.
