Every day brings a new firehose of horrors, but we are strong and resilient and are finding ways to carry on our quest to build a community based on peace, love and justice. That is what our Freedom Feasts are all about. On Sunday, February 23 we are hosting a Selma Rent Party to raise money for our 6 courageous members of Nonviolent Austin who are traveling to Selma, AL to attend a week long training in Kingian Nonviolence and represent our community at the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, the crossing of the Edmund Pettis Bridge. Our friends will return to Austin, ready to share their knowledge of nonviolent activism with the larger community. We will have music, raffles, and a bake sale. So bring a baked good to sell, your spare change and anything you can spare to help us ensure this vital training is a success. The event will take place at 2505 Princeton Dr. Austin 78741 from 3:30 to 5:30. Here is a link if you want to donate early or are unable to attend. Fun is on the menu. - Judy Gradford
