Thailand’s political situation in 2024 has witnessed a troubling rise in the number of individuals detained due to their involvement in political protests and expression. This growing number of political prisoners, both awaiting trial and already convicted, highlights the urgent need for support to improve their living conditions, systematically document their cases and advocate for their rights.In response to this pressing issue, Freedom Bridge, a non-profit organization, was established in May 2024, it is committed to providing essential assistance to political prisoners and their families and works towards the long-term goal of the release of all political prisoners in Thailand. Freedom Bridge’s combination of direct support, documentation, advocacy and fostering constructive dialogue aim to both contribute to this goal and recognize the need to support those affected until it is reached.

The event will feature panel discussions on how we can contribute to improving the quality of life for political prisoners and collectively advocate for an amnesty bill that includes all political detainees, which are the crucial steps to work toward a more just society.
