About this Event
Alex is an E-RYT 500 and has been teaching yoga for 10 years and holds a BA in Religious studies, which focused on Indian Religions and the origins of Yoga. Alex practice Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with a strong emphasis on anatomical alignment in addition to subtle body awareness in the the poses. His classes reflect the controlled intensity that we see in Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow classes.
Classes with Alex will begin with seated meditation on the breath and a brief chant in Sanskrit. This set the stage for the spiritual practice of yoga which begins with warming the body through various forms of surya namaskar. This flows seamlessly into linked standing postures, followed by seated hip opening, twisting, and folding. Class concluded with backbends and shavasana.
