Welcome to the second series of punk music sessions for women over 50 in South Wales, funded by Wales Millennium Centre.-------------------------------------------------------------
New to performing live or thinking of starting soon? Join us for a practical workshop designed to demystify sound tech and help you feel confident on stage, with Joel from Captain Accident who is a sound-tech and became an honorary 'Nana' last year when he drove The Nanaz to London. We'll cover the essentials every emerging performer should know: proper venue etiquette when borrowing equipment from other bands or the house, how to approach soundcheck professionally, and troubleshooting common technical issues before they derail your set. Whether you're a solo artist or in a band, this session will give you the foundational knowledge and confidence to navigate any venue with ease.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The concept of 'Nana Punk' was created by Jude Price, who collaborated with WMC, The Cab and Efa Supertramp to create the first series of these workshops in Autumn 2024. The first series of workshops resulted in a band called The Nanaz, who's members will be participating in this Autumn's sessions and sharing their knowledge!
The sessions are FREE and open to ALL women over the age of 50.
