Welcome to the second series of punk music sessions for women over 50 in South Wales, funded by Wales Millennium Centre.-------------------------------------------------------------
Come along and have a go at playing an electric guitar, ask questions about how to take up space on stage or combine guitar with singing vocals at the same time. The session will take place at Le Pub where you can plug in and practice playing on-stage with Tegan sharing their knowledge whether your a complete beginner or want to improve your guitar skills! The sessions are relaxed and fun - they are free and open to all women over 50.
Tegan Christmas is the guitar player and vocalist for The Ethical Debating Society (aka T.E.D.S.) a three-piece DIY punk, post-riot grrrl group from London. They have been described as "one of the most exciting DIY bands" in the UK (Gigslutz 2016).
---------------------------------------------------------------
The concept of 'Nana Punk' was created by Jude Price, who collaborated with WMC, The Cab and Efa Supertramp to create the first series of these workshops in Autumn 2024. The first series of workshops resulted in a band called The Nanaz, who's members will be participating in this Autumn's sessions and sharing their knowledge!
The sessions are FREE and open to ALL women over the age of 50.
