Boogie by the Bay has a FREE West Coast Swing Beginner Series taught by talented instructors! This is a great opportunity to begin your dance journey and learn the fundamentals that will help you to have incredible dances with people at all experience levels!

**Important**:
• The Beginner Series is completely FREE to anyone who is interested in learning to dance West Coast Swing! No need to register in advance 🙂
• No partner or dance experience required so invite your friends! You’ll rotate between various partners during the class. You can choose to lead or follow, whatever you prefer.
• Wear comfortable clothing (pants recommended) and smooth-soled (eg. leather- or suede-soled) shoes. Dancing in socks works too! Consider bringing an extra shirt or change of clothes, as you may want to freshen up.
• Bring some snacks, and a water bottle to stay hydrated! There will be a water station nearby.
There is another FREE Beginner Series running on Saturday - the two days will be run independent of each other to allow for more people to attend for their first time. But attending both will help you feel more successful when social dancing!

What is West Coast Swing?:
West Coast Swing is a fun, partnered style of social dance! Although it originated from Lindy Hop during the 1940’s in the USA, it can be danced to almost any genre of music and has evolved to become one of the most versatile, expressive and improvisational social dance styles around the world! It has no limits when it comes to progression, and you can have fun no matter what level you are – even if you think you have 2 left feet!
