Free Beginner West Coast Swing Dance Classes at Everglades Regional Recreation Center:Starting this coming Wednesday, September 3rd, and for the entire month of September (3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th,) we’ll be teaching beginner West Coast Swing dancing. Since this will be a beginner class, you do not need any previous dance experience to participate. Even if you already know how to dance West Coast Swing you are still invited to attend the class so you can review your technique, styling, leading/following connection, and the basic steps. However, keep in mind that the class will be taught at a beginner's pace. The class will be a progressive class, which means we'll teach the basic step of the dance the first week of class and then progress to additional steps in the following weeks. Therefore it is helpful for you to attend, if possible, the first week of any new dance we are teaching.
Our dance classes are held Wednesdays, from 11 am to noon, at the Everglades Regional Recreation Center. The Villages will require to see your Villages ID; therefore, please arrive a little early to do this so we can start the class at 11 am.
Partners are preferred, but not required. We try to encourage rotating among our singles, but please understand that if you come without a partner there is no guarantee you will have a partner to dance with.
Our lessons are free, there are no fees involved to participate.
No pre-registration is needed. Just come and have fun!
The class will be limited to 120 participants.
The doors open at 10:30 and we will play practice music between 10:30 and 11 am.
